The purpose of Showdown is to bring together MSAs and Muslim students all across the state in the spirit of healthy competition and unity. This event is a manifestation of the MSA Lone Star Council's understanding: through cooperation we can achieve much more than we can accomplish individually, and as we continue to work at the local levels, we recognize that each MSA is part of a large national and global movement working to bring positive change among Muslims and the society at large. 

 

Showdown 2014 was hosted at the University of Texas at Austin and the theme was "Seeking his light". MSAs all across texas compete in various activities including tajweed, nasheed, knowledge bowl, art, photography, film, basketball, volleyball, and many more.

 

Showdown 2015 is going to be hosted at Texas A&M.  Stay tuned for more details!
